Implementation Regulations on Bachelor's Degree Conferral for International Students (Trial)

Chapter 1 General Provisions
Article 1 These regulations are formulated in accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on Academic Degrees, the Administrative Measures for the Enrollment and Cultivation of International Students by Schools, and with reference to the specific conditions of Jiujiang University (JJU).
Article 2 These regulations apply to international students who are formally enrolled by JJU with the approval from the higher-level education authorities for bachelor's degree education.
Chapter 2 Conditions of Degree Conferring
Article 3 International students who meet the following conditions shall be conferred a bachelor's degree upon approval by the JJU Academic Degree Evaluation Committee.
1. The student demonstrates good moral character, complies with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, abides by the rules and regulations of JJU, and respects Chinese traditional culture and customs.
2. The student has successfully completed the prescribed courses, internships, graduation thesis, graduation project, or other graduation requirements as stipulated by the academic program, and has acquired:
l A good command of the basic theories, specialized knowledge, and fundamental skills in the relevant discipline; and
l The preliminary ability to undertake academic research or professional technical work.
3. The student has acquired basic proficiency in Chinese and has met the relevant standard, as evidenced by one of the following:
For Chinese-taught programs: Achieving HSK Level 5 or above (reaching 60% of the total score) upon graduation; / For foreign language-taught programs: Achieving HSK Level 4 or above (reaching 60% of the total score) upon graduation;
Or retake one academic year of Chinese language training (no less than 800 hours) at Jiujiang University after graduation, passing the Chinese proficiency test for bachelor's degree organized by JJU (reaching 60% of the total score).
